Password Reset Policy and Procedure

SCW takes customer security seriously, which means we require an order number for owner verification. An order number will be required for any and every password reset.

You can find your order number with your original paperwork, email confirmations from SCW, as well as by logging into your account on our website.

Because of the risk of identity theft or impersonation, SCW will not be able to do any password reset without the original SCW order number, unless compelled by a court order or warrant.

Admiral and Imperial Lines

Admiral and Imperial lines must be reset with a local monitor connected. Follow these steps.

Step 1: On the login screen of the recorder’s local display there is a link which says “Forgot password?”. Click that link to bring up the reset screen. Check the image below for an example.

Step 2: Once you click the secret button you’ll enter the “Retrieve Password” section. Please give the “Serial Number” Information to your SCW representative.

Step 3: The SCW representative will generate and tell you a unique reset code based on the day and serial number. Please enter this code under the “Temporary Password” box.

Step 4: Hit the “OK” button and you will be asked to set a new password on the system.

Create a new password for the device and enter it twice to confirm. This password will now be your password for your NVR, web interface, phone, etc.

Vanguard. Executive, Econs, Networker, and Super line recorders

Note: Units purchased after late 2017 may require a Windows computer and code generation and will not be able to be reset via the monitor. These resets will take additional time as the reset code must be sent off and sent back to us.

Step 1: On the login screen of the recorder’s local display there is a secret button on the bottom left corner. Click the bottom left corner in rapid succession. Move your mouse around if you do not notice the screen change. Check the image below for an example.

Step 2: Once you click the secret button you’ll enter the password reset area. Please give the “Serial No.” Information to your SCW representative.

Step 3: The SCW representative will generate and tell you a unique reset code based on the day and serial number. Please enter this code under the “Secure Code” box.

Step 4: Hit “OK” and the password will either reset to the default 12345 or if you had a unit that was 12345scw by default it will ask you to create a new password.
