How Does A 22X Zoom Lens Work For C-mount Cameras?

In the last two years, engineers in China have designed a new c-mount camera that has a built in optical zoom lens. This camera is very powerful and best of all it you don't have to purchase a lens to make it work. It is one thing to shop for a camera, but to find the right lens is another. Why not just one c-mount camera out-of-the-box ready? That is exactly what this camera is capable of. The optical zoom that we have studied and tested is rated at 22X zoom. That is very far for a camera of this class. You usually see this among PTZ style security cameras. However, this is the same zoom features but no pan, tilt, or zoom.

C-mount Cameras Can Be Fitted With Manual Varifocal Lenses

With c-mount cameras you can mount any type of lens. There are fixed lenses and varifocal lens. They both are optional mount, but in the matter of a zoom style lens, you can purchase lenses with varifocal capabilities. By varifocal we mean a lens that can be adjusted manually. They come in all sorts of varieties. You have lens that have 4mm-9mm, 2mm-8mm, 3mm-12mm, 2mm-12mm and many more. They all have to be adjusted manually and the main goal is to adjust both the zoom and focus to get the picture you w want. We have several lenses that you can choose from to reach your desired video shot.

Can I Get My Camera To Zoom Automatically?

With a third-party advice, yes you can. However in the class of c-mount security cameras there is not a device out that will enable functionality to zoom from a remote control or even on it's own. We see this technology in PTZ cameras. That is primarily due to the RS485 cable. You will not see this in c-mount cameras currently. They still all have to be manually zoomed in and out. It does not matter if the c-mount camera has built in zoom lens or if you have to attach one.
