This is an upgrade in style compared to our SONY-CMD6440S hidden smoke detector camera. Unlike the SONY-CMD6440S, this smoke detector camera is very high tech looking. Nothing against it's predecessor, but this camera is new to the warehouse so we have it listed at an introductory sale price. It offers a great way to gather information from very different aspects from many different environments. We have seen a pick up in orders for this camera in business settings and industrial buildings. This is an indoor camera only! So we recommend using this camera in a small business setting, corporate environment, pretty much anywhere indoors. We do not recommend this style of smoke detector in residential homes, you will not fool anyone. This is made to fit in a more savvy environment.

SHARP P10133BG Smoke Detector Camera Performance

This smoke detector camera has a small circuit board built into the camera. The camera has a 1/3" SHARP chip-set and renders 420 TV lines of video. This chip-set produces very crisp and sharp video. The camera is equipped with a 3.6mm lens. It is mounted on the side with mesh that hides the camera. But the mesh does not interfere with the picture. However it does produce very wide shots of video and you can see out to 25 to 30 feet. That is facial distance of course. The camera will not work in the dark. It has a low lux, where it can still see in color in very low light conditions, but not in total darkness. If you have doubts about the camera's ability to handle low conditions, then we recommend using ambient lighting. You can use a series of night lights in the area. It seems very amateurish, but it gets the job done.

SHARP P10133BG Smoke Detector Camera Mounting Instructions

The camera mounts only one way. That is of course on the very top of the ceiling. It has a drywall mounting kit that will let you use drywall screws to hold the camera in place. But there is no special mounting bracket for this style of camera.
