quality of video, and much more. You can use many of these DVR cards to make large CCTV setups. Most of our customers that buy large
camera systems will be hi-residential, hi-commercial,
low and hi-industrial plants, warehouses, grocery stores, and many other hi traffic compounds. Before building a setup larger than
16 security cameras, map-out what you are trying to accomplish and make sure you get all the parts you need. 16 channel DVRs, will
require at least 1 Tera byte of hard drive space to accomplish a few weeks of record time. If you have a CCTV system this large, then
you need time to study your operation and playing back video is a must. It will take time to smooth out any problems you have and you
want the ability to record in real-time 24 hours a day 360 days a year. If you are unsure what kind of hard drive
space you are going to need to keep up with this DVR card, use our DVR hard drive calculator to determine how many
hard drives you will need to reach your desired record time.
DVC-CPHC16 Setup Requirements
To successfully make sure your DVR runs smoothly you will need to make sure you have all the right parts to ensure 100%
efficiency. This DVR card will run best on a Windows platform. You will need to install an Intel Pentium 4 processor or
higher, an Intel mother board and at least 1 GIG of memory. Also make sure you format your hard drives before installing
them! We recommend using at least combined total of 500 gigs of hard drives on an 8 channel DVR or above. This will ensure
that you have enough video to study and help you learn how to better secure your home, business, or operation. We also
recommend that you get a well ventilated DVR case or PC tower and keep cool air passing through. Do not place your security
DVR inside an entertainment center or in any room with no air flow. Over heating will cause circuits to go bad over within
a few months.
