You Need At Least 3 Tera-Bytes To Achieve A Months Record Time
If you are looking to keep a month's record-time
on hand with a 24 channel DVR setup, you will need plenty of hard drives. We listed our options in this range from the very basic amount of hard drive space up to 1 Tera-byte. If your CCTV application calls for more hard drives, then you will want to
call us for a custom DVR solution.
3 Tera-bytes of hard drive space will put you at around four weeks of record time at real-time-recording.
You can manipulate your settings to gain more record time for your 24 channel DVR, but we recommend making sure you can record at 30 frames per second at a minimum. With the large CCTV systems that need a 24 channel DVR rig, you should plan to either grow into having three Tera-bytes or purchase 3 Tera-byte systems from us at the start!
Leaving Room to Expanding a 24 Camera System
Twenty-Four Channel DVRs can support up to 16 cameras, so it is best to use them if you have 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 or 24 security cameras. Although there is some wisdom to saving money and buying a 16 channel DVR if you have less than 17 cameras, you will want to consider you future needs and if you will want to upgrade in future as you will save considerable money by only buying the DVR once.
