12 Channel DVRs are being phased out of the industry as the cost of components have gone down. It now just as cheap to get 16 channels (2 x 8 channel recording cards) than to get 12 channels (1 x 8 channel recording drive slot and 1 x 4 channel recording cards). Because the cost of 8 channel recording has come down to so close the cost of 4 channel slots -- and because we order the 8 drive slots in bulk, we have upgraded all our 12 channel DVRs to 16 channels.
