Day & Night security cameras are very neat cameras. They have special CCD chip-sets that allow the camera's pixels to take in more light and continue to see in color in low light conditions. Day and night security cameras cannot see in color in total darkness. You will need to leave lights on in the area where you mount your cameras. The light will help improve the overall video feed. Just know that you cannot use these dome security cameras in total darkness. Color video is just better than black and white video!

If you have them outside, then use flood lights or for business applications your external lights on the building will do fine.
