How are c-mount cameras unique?

Cmount cameras record hi-definition video and transmits signal via BNC connection. They also adapt very well to fast changes in light. They make great hi-resolution indoor security cameras. But they work just like any other bullet cameras, dome cameras, or any other security cameras.

Why don't they come with a lens?

C-mount security cameras are made without lens, because the end-user needs to be able to have as much more control and flexibility to get the picture they want. There are many different types of lenses. The ranges are 3.5mm, 4mm, 6mm, 12mm, and so on. There are also varifocal lenses. Varifocal lenses give end-users more control and flexibility to adjust to the setting they need for changes in what they need and want to see. It also helps for when you are just unsure about what kind of shot you need.

They come without mounting brackets. So depending on your CCTV application the type of mounting bracket you need will vary. Typically most mounting brackets are setup for indoor applications. If you want to use one outside, you will need a cb-bracket to mount the housing.



How do I fit a lens on a c-mount camera?

Fitting any lens requires you to screw on the lens. All you have to do is start the thread and slowly screw on the lens fitting. It's that simple.
