This chip-set allows this c-mount camera to see color in low light situations. The Super HAD CCD Sensor allows it to take in even more light. It is really a powerful security camera. It does not come with a lens, so you will need to look at our c-mount security camera lenses and we have many different selections you can choose from. All the camera settings are located on the back of the camera. You can control the digital shutter, the flickness, mirror function, and the ir cut/monochrome. All these settings will help you get the best possible video. Depending on your security application, you can manipulate these settings to get the right amount of light. This camera also has built-in audio. Although you cannot prosecute anyone with audio with out their consent, information is still valuable especially when you are protecting your best interest. It is another great feature that makes this camera the best. The Sony-CMR501, will fit into many custom CCTV applications. This c-mount camera has the ability to see color in both the day and the night. It has a lux of 0.001, this enables the camera to have almost no light and it will still convert the available light and render color video. There are just some applications out there that just need color both in the day and the night. The great thing about this model is that it has 550 TV Lines and a 1/3" Sony Super HAD CCD sensor. The picture quality from this c-mount camera is amazing and will not disappoint you. When there is almost no light the color video is just a little bit darker than during the day. However, it will still perform and deliver the best video. This camera performs best indoors. We recommend using secondary lighting called Monochrome that will prevent total video loss. This effective especially when there is total darkness. No security camera can see in total darkness, so this feature ensures that you will have video in cases of a blackout.

SONY CMR501 Camera Mounting Instructions

This camera mounts in the same way as all our other c-mount security cameras. This c-mount camera like all our other models do not come with a lens and has to be purchased separately. The mounting bracket is to be used indoors with a standard, c-bracket. If you want to be able to utilize a camera like this outside, you will need get an outdoor mounting bracket and a housing. If your application is in the part of the world, where you have extreme temperatures in the summer and winter you will need to use a housing with a heater and a blower. The weight of this housing will need a sturdy CB-bracket>.
