About Bullet Security Cameras
Bullet cameras are the most effective weapon in CCTV setups, which due to their ability to adapt with your security needs and, thus, fill many different roles within a CCTV setup. A bullet security camera can sport many different types of lenses and many posses the ability to switch between color capture and an infrared mode not unlike infrared security cameras. The quality of a bullet camera is measured by two different metrics: Chip Set and Resolution. Bullet Cameras Are User Friendly
Bullet Cameras can Fill Multiple Roles
They can take on many roles. First, they can be used indoor or outdoor. Secondly, they can take abuse from the heat, cold, rain, and terrible lighting conditions and can generally withstand temperatures between 180 degrees Fahrenheit and -20 degrees Celsius. Some can even survive hurricane conditions (This is a generalization as each model has its own specifications, including their heat, cold, and windstorm ratings. Please consult our weatherproof bullet camera models for more information.). The infrared approach adds a sensor that can detect when to kick on the infrared lights. Infrared security cameras and infrared lenses on bullet security cameras allow security personnel to view at in a high resolution black and white video based upon infrared technology (Please consult our color bullet security cameras or infrared bullet cameras for more info on these subsets of bullets). As most bullets can be purchased with a variety of different lens packages, you can always have a vari-focal approach to adjust the lens setting in response to real-time situations. This is why they are a multi-role approach to any security setup. Bullet Camera RestrictionsAlthough bullet cameras were designed to fill multiple roles, there are a few places to not use certain bullet camera models.
The LED lights necessary for infrared recording can wash out your image when in a small space, or when reflective objects are near the camera. High powered LED lights have the ability to reflect light back at the camera, when shot onto reflective objects (such as windows, some "glossy" interior paints, fish tanks, doors, or other metal objects).
This is generally a good rule of thumb. However, the size of room, the presence of reflective objects, or other considerations must be taken into consideration when selecting your camera. There are no restrictions that will affect the video when using bullet cameras outdoors. Adaptations for Bullet Cameras
A Bullet security camera has the ability to be purchased with either fixed or vari-focal lenses. A vari-focal lens gives you the option to manually adjust the lens to see at different distances. When events arise in your security setup it is important that you have a camera that can be adjusted to have wider angle of views to capture certain events or see farther to identify key suspects. Most security cameras, especially c-mount security cameras, are not able to adapt as well as bullet cameras. Above all this information we give you the flexibility to choose adapt to changing CCTV needs. Some bullet security cameras have fixed lens with infrared lights and some have vari-focal adjustments with short and wide ranges.
