How Many Days of Video Does a Security Cameras Store?

Posted on April 27, 2010 by admin There have been 0 comments

None.

It's a bit of a trick question, but it's one that we get asked quite frequently.

It's not the security camera that records, but rather you will need a security dvr with a hard drive in order to record the video that the surveillance camera is sending.

The amount of recording time that you can store depends upon several things:

How big of a hard drive does the DVR have?
What resolution (quality of the images) is the video that you are recording?
How many frames per second (quality of the video) do you want to record?
Will you enable features like "motion detection" which only records when there is motion captured on the video?
Will the cameras be running 24/7?

To answer these questions please use our Record time calculator.
