This microphone is for indoor use only. The microphone is 45 inches long and has RCA plug and play connection. It has a built in amplifier, which makes for very good audio playback. The quality is very good and there is zero static in the signal. Upon installation you will just need to use RCA plug and play cable. It will run video and power through the cable. All you need is a BNC to RCA connector, to interphase with your security dvr. If you are not looking to record and you want to run this to a monitor you can. Just turn your T.V. to Video 1 and you can hear the audio. You can take it step further and integrate the T.V. setup to an old V.C.R and record the audio. Most people use these spy microphones in the same area as their security cameras, so they can have video to go with the audio.
